My Daughter, My Friend

I have a certain daughter,
Who has a place inside my heart.
Though life may come between us,
It can't tear us two apart.
She's always been so special,
A bright spot in my day
With laughter, smiles and giggles
To take my breath away.

So when she's down and troubled,
I hope I'm always near.
To let her know how much I care,
To comfort and to cheer.
I hope she knows I love her,
From now until the end.
She's not only my daughter,
She's also my best friend!
